I HEART ART
Here’s some art of yours truly comin’ at ya from the eye of artist and comic book extraordinaire Chad Sell. The process is pretty amazing. And needless to say he was generous; I would totally kick some serious ass if my fists were that big—big fists…(insert vulgar thought here).
Chad is clearly a fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race show, so he does the best impressions of the contestants from past seasons. I especially love the portraits of Sharon Needles in all her spooky glory. I purchased two Sharon prints. They now hang in my bedroom.
However, his webcomics with the tongue-in-cheek name MANTA-MAN are clearly his labor of love. He describes it as a transcendentally silly (and occasionally sexy) webcomic. — “It’s a crazy, rambling tale of love, sex, naked ladies, and monkeys…not exactly a superhero comic, and it’s only a little gay. Imagine something between Love & Rockets and Scott Pilgrim.” He started MANTA-MAN in the beginning of 2011. (check it out out at www.mantamancomics.com)
