HUNTY HONEY
Never thought I’d see the day. This racy billboard now stands tall and proud on the very prominent corner of Sunset Blvd & La Cienega Blvd. I’m talkin’ about the historical and very hetero Rock & Roll Sunset Boulevard only down the street from the Roxy and The House of Blues. It’s not the first time Mancunt has posted a billboard on that corner with sexy guys getting sexual in the outskirts of the gay bubble just north of Santa Monica Blvd, but it’s the first time I decided to take a picture to share with you guys for shits and chuckles. I find the dog tag carrying wannabe military fantasy completely played out, but I gottah hand it to the people at Mancunt; the billboard grabs you and stays with you–even if I don’t necessarily buy or believe that these types of guys are zero feet away waiting to hook up with the general public via Mancunt mobile.
I witnessed people in their cars. They leaned over with long necks looking up; mouths agape, and then a fascinated finger slowly pointing at these two hot guys in the process of locking lips while they slowly rolled by in congested traffic—you just KNOW that they’re wondering: “Which one is the boy, and which is the girl?” (The guy to the right is clearly the girl—DUH!!!)
Then you look to the left of this billboard and you get some kewt and playful billboard promoting The Lorax by Dr Seuss, which can make the Mancunt billboard completely inappropriate, or give it a sense of normalcy. I can’t decide.
I was really on Sunset Blvd to get a shot of Fran Drescher’s new Billboard that promotes her new show Happily Divorced. My friend Judd Minter does her hair. This is his first billboard on Sunset Boulevard, so congratulations to Judd.
And so it goes.
Luv,
Me
