I found this note taped to the front of my building this morning. I can’t believe somebody had the balls to break into a secured apartment complex in the heart of West Hollywood and they had the ability to walk away with 2 TVs and other portable electronic equipment.
Westmount Dr is no Rodeo Dr, but this sort of thing doesn’t happen in Weho–especially on the west side of La Cienega Blvd, only walking distance from Santa Monica Blvd. And yet it seems like times are getting so tough and fuckers are getting so desperate that they’re forgetting their boundaries. The thieves obviously know their way around the city. They camped out. They knew how to get into the building and they knew who wouldn’t be home this past Saturday morning.
I always worry about one of my neighbors leaving the iron on, or forgetting to turn off their heaters and accidentally setting the place on fire. I never gave a cat burglar much thought. Times are changing, so I guess it’s times to change our habits and take those extra few seconds to use that bolt and chain.
Any information regarding the burglary that happened on 856 Westmount Dr between the hours of 2am and 4am on Saturday December 17th, contact the West Hollywood Sheriffs at 310-855-8850 reference “tag81”
